I am an accredited Family Mediator (certified by the Ontario Association for Family Mediation) and I assist separating couples to devise a workable Parenting Plan as part of their Separation Agreement that focuses on major decision-making (“custody”) and scheduled time with each parent (“access”).
I am a registered clinical psychologist based in the heart of Newmarket, Ontario, across from Southlake Regional Health Centre. I offer confidential psychological assessments and psychotherapy to individual adults, including seniors, as well as couples therapy in my private clinic. I also provide public speaking and training to professionals and families on a variety of topics. I have been licensed since 1996, and I have worked in various hospital and private clinic settings for more than twenty years.
As an Elder Mediator, I assist the senior, their family and their treatment team to discuss and reach agreement about difficult matters such as choosing the right time for a move from home, making important medical decisions, end of life planning, personal care decisions, deciding who to appoint as Power of Attorney for finances and/or Personal Care, and other issues specific to the elderly.
As a Capacity Assessor designated by the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee, I conduct assessments of Capacity to manage property and personal care, as well as provide opinions on capacity to make or change a Will and give or revoke Powers of Attorney.
I am pleased to provide information and/or educational seminars to professionals, families, and the general public regarding psychological, capacity, elder, and separation issues. I specialize in giving educational seminars to families and professional caregivers about the behavioural management of difficult behaviours and the psychological impact of caring for elders with dementia.
